Abigail Robinson, a native of Gonzales, Louisiana, discovered her true calling within the hair industry through a twist of fate. Much like many high school graduates, Abigail grappled with uncertainty about her career path. It was a fortunate stroke of serendipity that led her to a receptionist position at a salon, where she fell head over heels for the industry, realizing she had found her lifelong calling. After obtaining her license, she relocated to New York City in pursuit of furthering her education.
Abigail’s love for New York City and her sense of belonging stem from the city’s remarkable diversity and the chance it provides for self-reinvention and self-discovery. Feeling genuinely at home in this metropolis, NYC has impacted her style and confidence, allowing her to embrace her androgynous aesthetic. She finds the city has something for everyone - from urban energy to nature's tranquility.
Abigail’s Louisiana roots shared with our salon’s namesake, helped lead her to her home at Sam Brocato Salon. She considers the salon team akin to family and her coworkers her trusted mentors. Participating in NYC Bridal Week was a career highlight, and Abigail has proudly had her hands in the hair of celebrities Anna Kendrick and Lily James.
Passionate about causes such as human rights, equality and education, Abigail is described by those closest to her as funny, organized, and direct. In her downtime, you can find her reading, swimming laps, or lounging at home with her cats.
Honed into a young, vibrant NYC clientele, Abigail loves receiving customer referrals and styling all their friends, too! Abigail says that empathy is her secret hair design weapon. She always strives to see the client's perspective and understand their desired look. Abigail counts many benefits to working in a hair salon: the constant energy and chatter, the ability to create, and she stays up-to-date on the latest happenings. But most rewarding is helping clients discover their best selves through the transformative power of hair design.
