YASUE IIDA  |  Prodigy

When asked how's she doing, Yasue Iida answers, "I am truly living my dream." As a seasoned stylist, Yasue's journey is one of creativity, inspiration, and the transformative power of beauty. Her motivation is to make clients feel beautiful and boost their confidence. Her true reward is the smile on a client's face after their service. To Yasue, hairstyling is not merely about hair; it's a lifelong passion that ignites her soul.

Born and raised in Japan, her mother, who sewed unique clothing for Yasue and her sister, inspired her to be creative. Yasue received a bachelor's degree in fashion from a Tokyo university, then relocated to New York City and became a hairstylist. She sees NYC as a melting pot of opportunities, with people from everywhere converging to provide an endless canvas of diverse personalities, cultures, and innovation. It is here that Yasue feels free to embrace her true self.

Yasue's clients' myriad stories and personalities are daily inspirations, and the connections she forges are unparalleled. She's graced the locks of award-winning actress Claire Danes, Karen Gorney from "Saturday Night Fever," and New York Yankees starting pitcher, Gerrit Cole. Though she's adept at all haircutting and styling, she especially loves doing hair extensions.

At Sam Brocato Salon, Yasue feels she found more than a workplace – she found a family. The importance of being surrounded by good-hearted coworkers resonates deeply with her. The camaraderie and talent sharing within the team are the cornerstones of success. A master stylist once told Yasue that "a haircut is a sculpture." Embracing this philosophy, she treats everyone sitting in her chair as a living work of art. With meticulous attention to detail and personalized customer service, she creates an experience that leaves her clients feeling confident and beautiful.

Yasue's favorite travel destination is her homeland of Japan, where her family resides. The fashion of the 1960s and 70s captivates her, inspiring her to create unique clothing from vintage fabric. Her 1958 Singer sewing machine is her trusted companion in this artistic pursuit. A delightful twist about Yasue? She has a collection of over 2,000 PEZ candy dispensers on display in her home, a fascination that has endured since the 1990s.

Yasue's values are her guiding light – honesty, integrity, and courtesy form the foundation of her artistry. Step into her world at Sam Brocato Salon and experience the enchantment she creates with every touch.
