Yasue earned her bachelor's degree in Fashion at the University of Tokyo before moving to the US. She initially lived in Madison, Wisconsin to learn English, and then sought out New York as the epicenter of beauty and fashion. In New York she found herself at a crossroads: follow her original path to a career in fashion, or start again and study hairstyling. While the two are interconnected, hair offered Yasue the ability to create as in fashion, but with the instant gratification of her clientele. She graduated from the Aveda Institute of New York and began her career at the Oscar Bond Salon, now The Sam Brocato Salon, in 2003.
Yasue specializes in long layers, men's haircuts, voluminous blowouts and the Brocato Curl Interrupted Smoothing System. Her quirky, exciting personality manifests itself in her impeccable vintage wardrobe, and also in her Pez dispenser collection. She hopes one day to start a Pez museum!
