Jiwon Yang studied art for 6 years at the Sunhwa Art School in Korea. Afterwards, she had an exciting career as a coordinator for the Tasaki Co., one of Korea's largest jewelry companies. There she explored her passion to create style through her conceptual ideas of shape and design. Jiwon's desires to further her creative passions lead to a life changing decision; wherein she left her homeland of Korea to arrive on the doorsteps of the Vidal Sassoon Institute in Los Angeles, CA. It is there she began to explore and hone her talents as a hairstylist, and birth her desires of eventually coming to NYC.
She worked for various hair salons in the chic and trendy downtown area of Manhattan, which eventually lead to her current relationship with the Sam Brocato Salon (formerly Oscar Bond Salon). She is not only the salon's current Prodigy Stylist, but is licensed in and has truly mastered the art of Great Lengths Extensions. Jiwon also had the honor of working with a variety of celebrated stylists for such prestigious fashion magazines as Bazaar, Elle, Russian Vogue, Flair and a Macy's commercial. Additionally, she worked on numerous shows such as the Sarah Jessica Parker Clothing Brand Look Book, Conair Campaign, Benhaz Sarafpour, Z Zegna, Issac Mizarahi, Julien Louie, to name a few.
Jiwon's diverse creative background enriches her unique approach to trend, style, and design. She is thrilled to share this knowledge base with her clientele at the Sam Brocato Salon. After all, her greatest desire is to extend her deep love for style to all her clients, and as she has simply stated, "to make people feel pretty".
